6th grade students in Miss Perrine’s digital arts classes are studying photography. They viewed black and white architectural images and discussed strategies for taking visually balanced, interesting photographs. Students practiced looking for light and shadow to create an image, rather than focusing on colors. Students took pictures around the school and learned various editing techniques in Photoshop Elements to enhance their photographs.
Mrs. Foff’s 6th grade students are studying hand building techniques in clay. They recently made colorful terra cotta pinch pots and are now creating textured slab cylinders. Students researched quotes that they inlayed on their clay slabs. Students studying textile with
Mrs. Flanigan are making quilted iPad covers. Each student selected coordinating strips of fabric to measure, cut, piece together and sew for their projects.
