6th grade math students have been feeling lucky lately after working with probability. Students have been working with dice, cards, spinners, and odds to find the likelihood of specific events happening such as rolling a certain number or picking a specific card. They then used this knowledge to predict the number of times a event is going to occur out of a decided number of times. Students took at shot at predicting how many baskets a basketball player would make in a season if they knew their odds as well. To cumulate their knowledge of this topic, students took a chance in creating an original game board that not only demonstrated their probability proficiency, but their math mastery in a multitude of categories. Needless to say, our 6th grade students gambled their way to a good time.
