11.9.15 Day of the Dead

In fifth grade Spanish, students have been celebrating Mexican heritage for the past few weeks. Students were able to celebrate Día de los Muertos or “Day of the Dead” by creating “Calaveras” (sugar skulls) and “Papel Picado” which are decorative tissue paper with images and words representing the students’ families or deceased loved ones. Students also took a deeper look into the similarities and differences in culture by creating comparative charts with key words and images.
