Re: 2024 Summer Growth Camp
Thank you for registering your child/ren in Ancillae-Assumpta Summer Growth Camp. Our staff is looking forward to welcoming this summer’s campers to another exciting and fun-filled camp season. Campers will engage in outdoor play, arts and crafts, sports, science experimentation, and fun reading and math activities to help them grow intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally.
Each week, our camp will follow a theme for our adventures. This summer’s adventures include:
Week 1 A Day at the Beach
Week 2 Camping Adventure
Week 3 Saving the Day with Superheroes
Week 4 Insect Investigation
Week 5 Digging for Dinosaurs
Week 6 Shipwrecked- Pirates
Week 7 Exploring the Rainforest
This is a reminder that camp begins Monday, June 17, 2024. Camp is in session from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily. Half-day pick up is at 12:00 p.m. and does not include lunch time. Camp after care closes at 5:45 p.m.
On the first day, campers should report to the Sacred Heart Center Stepping Stones Entrance where they will meet with their counselors. Each day will begin and end with an assembly in the Sacred Heart Center Stepping Stones area.
This summer the camp is coordinated by Regina Francis. For camp-related questions or concerns, please dial 215-885-1636 and ask the receptionist to transfer you to Regina Francis, or the camp office. For registration and billing information, please ask the receptionist to transfer you to Margaret Trottnow.
TUITION
Camp tuition bills are emailed in May. The remainder of camp tuition is due by Friday, June 14, 2024. Please make checks payable to Ancillae Assumpta Academy or payments can be made online. We would appreciate prompt payment of your balance and expect that any existing balance be paid before your child begins camp.
MEDICATION POLICY
The policy of the Academy (and Cheltenham Township) regarding medications-prescription and non-prescription-is as follows:
-Medications must be sent to camp in the original container- clearly marked
-Campers may not carry their medications or self-medicate
-Parents must bring the medications to camp and give them to one of the camp coordinators (all medications will be kept in the camp office)
-Each medication must have two (2) written permission letters - one from the doctor, one from the parent
HEALTH EMERGENCY INFORMATION
Please complete the Health Emergency online form for your camper. It is imperative that this information is on file at the Academy before camp begins. Please return the completed forms as soon as possible and no later than Friday, June 14, 2024. Please provide us with the requested names and phone numbers for use in the case of emergency. Be sure to note any allergies or medication needs your camper(s) has.
CAMP ATTIRE
Campers should wear comfortable play clothes. Because of the variety of camp activities, we ask that children wear sneakers rather than sandals or any other type of open shoe. Since the children spend a good part of the day outside, we recommend that you apply the appropriate sunscreen. SSM/Preschool and kindergarten students will have water play each day. These campers should wear a bathing suit each day and bring a towel and change of clothes to camp each day in some type of tote bag. Students in grades 1-3 will have a water fun activity each Friday. Please wear a bathing suit and bring a towel and change of clothes to camp in a tote bag each Friday. Please label all items.
Preschool students: Please send in a change of clothes (labeled) to be kept in your child's camp cubby in case of emergency.
LUNCH
Students staying full-day should pack a peanut-free lunch. Please read our Food Allergen Policy. A mid-morning snack is provided for all campers. If your child has any eating restrictions, please inform the camp office so that accommodations can be made. Students should bring a water bottle each day.
LOCKERS/CUBBIES & PERSONAL BELONGINGS
Campers will be provided with an area to put their belongings each day. Please put your child’s name on all articles of clothing, towels, and all other personal belongings.
CAMPUS TRAFFIC
All cars dropping off campers will, upon entering the property from Church Rd, make the second left and drop off outside of the Sacred Heart Center Stepping Stones Entrance. We ask that you form only one lane as counselors will assist your child out of the car. Pick-up in the afternoon is in the same area as the morning drop-off. Both in the morning and afternoon, there will be camp staff in the transportation area to help children in and out of the building. Parents should remain in the car to facilitate a smooth movement of the traffic.
EXTENDED CAMP CARE
The hours for extended camp care are 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Children not previously registered for extended camp care who arrive before 8:30 a.m. or are picked up after 3:00 p.m. will be charged the daily rate of $5 (mornings) and/or $10 (afternoons). Morning camp care is in the Sacred Heart Center Stepping Stones area. Afternoon camp care will utilize the Sacred Heart Center Stepping Stones area, playground, and gym. Parents are asked to sign children out before leaving after camp care.
We hope that the above information is helpful in planning your child/ren’s summer camp experience. We are confident that he/she will have a great summer and benefit from the activities that have been planned. If you have any questions about any aspect of the camp, please call the Academy Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Sincerely,
Regina Francis
