Our Admissions Process

Our admissions process will need to continue to evolve this year to best facilitate a safe experience for your family.  We look forward to learning about your child and sharing Ancillae with you in new ways. The fall 2021 application will be available on December 1, 2020 and updated admissions events and steps will be following.  It is very likely that some steps outlined below will need to be held virtually depending on local conditions and guidance.  Thank you for your flexibility!

This is our traditional admissions flow.  Please see the Virtual Admissions page for how applying in 2021 will unfold.

  1. Families interested in sending their child/ren to the Academy should to complete our online inquiry form to be added to our admissions list.
  2. Parents are encouraged to register for a Visiting Day Open House to tour the school and learn more about our curriculum, programs, and community.
  3. The student application and questionnaire are completed online by the parent/s prior to a student visit/assessment. Students applying to grades 4-8 should upload a copy of last year's report card and most current report of this year.
  4. As spaces become available in our student body, families will be notified in order of their date of application, but priority is given to current school and alumni families.
  5. Prospective students are invited to a visit/assessment at the Academy. Students entering Stepping Stones into Montessori, Pre-school, or Kindergarten are invited to a 30 to 60 minute visit/assessment [age appropriate] with one of the teachers in these programs.  Students entering grades 1 to 8 are invited to spend a school day at the Academy with our students.  These visits offer the students an experience at AAA and provide the admissions department with general information regarding readiness and placement.
  6. The decision to accept a student is made by the principal and/or Montessori coordinator and the admissions coordinator.  Should more information be needed to determine your child's readiness or placement, you will be contacted by a member of the admissions team, which may necessitate an additional visit, a pre-registration appointment, or a request for information from the student's current school.  Upon acceptance, families are invited to a formal registration to meet with the Academy’s director, principal, and admissions coordinator.
  7. The admission fees include application [$50], assessment [$80 to $100, age/grade appropriate], registration [$50], and deposit [$600].  Application and assessment fees are due prior to the student visit.  Registration and deposit fees are due at the formal registration appointment.
  8. Birth and baptismal certificates [baptismal, where applicable] are required documents to be presented at the time of registration.
  9. During the registration appointment, student health forms are given to parents and are required to be returned prior to the start of the new school year. Those forms include a physical examination form and certificate of immunization to be completed by the family physician, a health history to be completed by the parent/s, and a dental examination record to be completed by the family dentist.
  10. To aid in getting to know your child and his/her strengths and needs, please have your child's current school complete the Grades 1-8 Release of Records and Grades 1-8 Teacher Recommendation forms and only the K Teacher Recommendation form for Kindergarten students.  These forms provide us with additional information to prepare for your child's placement in our school.  Forms should be received by Ancillae no later than June 15th and can be uploaded here or sent by mail by the recommending teacher.
