Our Community
Where Love is Lived and Felt
With Love and for Love is more than an idea or aspiration. It's a community of dedicated people coming together to fulfill the promise of our mission. It begins with the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the religious order out of which we were originally founded. It deepens through our administrators, faculty, staff and Board of Trustees. It is made whole by our students, parents and guardians. It expands to include our alumni, friends and partners.
At every turn here at Ancillae, you will find supporting people who care about you. This is how we educate with Love and for Love — we begin with a community of real people who really care.

Love & Excellence
The Yellow Rose Award 2024 recipient is Elise Ellinger. Mrs. Ellinger’s commitment to Ancillae’s vision and mission is evident daily. We thank her for her skill, patience, and fidelity and for educating our students in the Handmaid model – with love and for love.
The Yellow Rose Award, sponsored by the Zwicker family (Marianne and Charles, Charles '12, Meghan '15, and Declan '23) reflects the legacy of Sister Elizabeth McCoy and the great care she took to recognize individuals and to show in a real way that each person mattered. Important occasions were often marked by the presentation of a single yellow rose. The gift of a yellow rose is forever an Ancillae tradition and symbolizes a spirit of love, friendship, and gratitude. The Yellow Rose Award is presented to a teacher each May who has impacted the journey of our 8th grade students in a special way as reflected by the graduates.
