Visual Arts
The advanced art education program is designed to promote and elevate student understanding of the comprehensive language of visual art through class offerings diverse in process and media. Students will learn the value of understanding a visual language which encourages communication through self expression and creativity. At Ancillae-Assumpta Academy we are committed to educating students to become creative problem solvers through dynamic art experiences reinforcing the elements and principles of design while improving overall academic performance and self confidence.
Artscapes is a select group of students who have shown an interest and talent in Art. Artscapes gives students an opportunity to share their talents with our school and local communities. Students are invited to participate from grades 5 through 8. The art teachers select students with a talent and enthusiasm for the visual arts, and throughout the school year, the students are involved with a variety of service projects including Arcadia University's "Empty Bowl Project," Ancillae-Assumpta Academy's "Heart to Heart program and "Helping Hands," a group that supplies hats and scarves to children in need. Artscapes students will also design and construct works to be part of permanent displays throughout the school campus. Artscapes not only gives students an opportunity to work together as a team and further develop their art skills, but also offers a chance to learn new techniques not offered to the regularly scheduled art classes.
